"Dogs are carnivores, or meat eaters. Their teeth are formed to pull flesh apart. They have simple stomachs and a short digestive tract, ideal for digesting meat. Cereal and vegetable proteins are not as readily digested by the dog. While dogs have adapted somewhat to digesting these proteins, they have to eat a greater quantity of such foods to get the necessary nutrients. Dogs prefer a food high in animal protein, and it makes them healthier and perform better".

Vaccination

Our dogs and puppies are given no vaccines other than rabies (as required by law).  Research has shown that vaccinations can damage the dogs immune system and contribute to many other diseases and illnesses down the road.  We also believed that vaccines often do little or nothing to actually prevent the disease for which they are given.  Please research this topic thoroughly before deciding to vaccinate your dog.  See the websites listed below.  Ask for and read the package inserts for any vaccine before allowing any vet to vaccinate your animals - they are very telling.

In addition to the above mentioned issues, our dogs are also raised in a chemical free environment.  We believe this is best for all creatures no matter how many legs they walk on.  We do not use chemical pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, or fertilizers.  Our puppies are never exposed to toxic chemicals.  We have found natural solutions to all of the previously mentioned 'cides' as well as our cleaning and other needs. 

Our first choice for medical needs is to treat our dogs holistically.  We do respect and understand the need for traditional/allopathic medicine in some situations.
